Retirement Announcement

After 28 years since originally starting at Herne Hill Group Practice, and 22 years as a partner, Dr Stephanie Lamb will be retiring from the Practice at the end of September 2026.

Throughout her career, Dr Lamb has provided outstanding care to patients of all ages. She has been a particularly exceptional advocate for children and young people, leading and developing children's services with passion, expertise, and unwavering commitment. She has played a pivotal role in shaping high-quality care for some of our most vulnerable patients, ensuring that the needs of children, young people, and their families have remained at the heart of service delivery. Her clinical leadership, compassion, and determination to improve outcomes have left a lasting legacy within the Practice and across the wider community.

Although we will be very sorry to see Dr Lamb leave Herne Hill Group Practice, we are delighted that she will continue her important work with The Well Centre, where she will remain dedicated to supporting the health and wellbeing of young people locally, regionally, and nationally.

We are also saying farewell to Dr Henry Butler, a longstanding and highly valued salaried GP, who will also be retiring at the end of September. As many of our patients know, Dr Butler is Dr Lamb's husband, and together they have made an enormous contribution to the Practice and to the care of our community over many years.

On behalf of all our colleagues, patients, and the wider community, we would like to express our sincere thanks to Dr Lamb and Dr Butler for their outstanding service, commitment, and compassion. Their dedication has touched the lives of countless patients and colleagues, and they leave with our deepest gratitude and very best wishes.

We wish Stephanie and Henry a long, happy, healthy, and fulfilling retirement.
